relief

what started out bright and sunny
turned
flipped
in a blink
passed

now forever 17
she always was ageless

humbly i watched
an army of angels
descend
lifting the hands
that hang down weary

truly a society of women
to offer relief
binding up the broken hearted
all in His name
for the love of the One
ever ready to save

beautiful. you always know just what to say and how to say it.

It is amazing to witness, angels lifting and bearing up in times of tragedy.

and i love that painting.

This is tender Cristie. You've seen it in action I'm sure. But even for me, an outsider, the relief - the symbolic white ribbons were so powerful - I had to write about it too.

This makes me very sad. And definitely doesn't call for the kind of message I planned to leave for you. Still. I hope it will bring cheer.

I wanted to wish you the happiest Independence Day. May your day be full! May you enjoy laughter shared with family, great food shared with friends, fireworks to make you gasp, a lump in your throat at the anthem, and a full and grateful heart at all we have been given. Happy Fourth of July, my friend!
