the covers quietly close

but for me it's not over

it's been three days

three restless nights

i live the story

it makes me sad
petty pride laced with mean
thin hearts--no vision
disease sequestered to black?
dumbed down

and then i rejoice
when all color is embraced

"you is smart"
"you is important"
