i'll be okay...

when she was five she said, "will you be okay?"

it was her first day of school and we had been playmates for as long as she could remember. so, off to school she went. making friends, learning new things, having more life.

now she is preparing for marriage.

she will move far, far away. and, i will be okay. she will make new friends, learn new things, and develop a much greater life. she will continue to serve and love. she will grow in beauty and grace.

i will miss her. but, she was a gift that i always knew was temporary. her seven older siblings have taught me to let go and smile.

i will be okay.
i will flourish.
i am living my dream.
my life is good.
i am thankful.

i smell pretty, oh so pretty

a birthday gift to me from my sister Angela.
every time i see it i look again.
lovely packaging.
smells so nice.
from someone i adore.

This gorgeous Victoriana-inspired fragrance and beauty packaging, the 'Happ & Stahns' range. The above smaller fragrance is housed in a gold foil-embellished 'tear catcher' to enhance the air of Victorian-era romance.
1842 Rosa Alba: created by Marypierre Julien of Givaudan, pink peppercorns and Darjeeling tea are splashed with a burst of grapefruit, a dash of wisteria and the scent of ancient Alba roses, then softened with amber wood and cashmere musk (FLORAL)

we play on labor day

These are my parents six children with my dad in the front.

Cousins, siblings, aunts and uncles...all smiles.

The boys played rough...and some little girls cried.

A long train of fun seekers.

By the time they hit the bottom they are smacked around.

Grammy sits at the bottom of the slide and takes pictures.

It's fun to watch and laugh.

Mama's hold babies.
