Barker's tree
i was walking down the street
rounded the bend
and "oh my goodness"
later i had to bring sweetie
we agreed...it was at it's peak
the tree could get no more beautiful
such amazing glorious color...
so then i stood under those vivid boughs
"Behold congenial Autumn comes,
the Sabbath of the Year."
- John Logan, 1748 - 1788
and I have to admit
the beauty of it all
the damp fragrance
the longing for this singular experience to linger
blessed by another Autumn
and poor Mr. John Logan only lived to be forty years old. i wonder at that. still, after these many years today he is quoted. Mr. John Logan, i wish for one more month of Autumn.
